Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her professional name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. This was when she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the internet, including her self released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as in Sweat It Out on the 21st of July the 21st of July, 2015. Later that year her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some potential references to Rihanna. It was announced on December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. On the record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The singer also performed on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video followed by a music video in September. Then on the 9th of November she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013 she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order to go along with the track. Within the first week, it had over 3,000,000 views. As a support act She toured in concert with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
